I no the headlamps mount different as I got a set of nos ford rhd lamps they fit my phase 1 but different to phase 2
Be well happy if phase 1 front fits on it

i know the headlights are but i thought it was just the plastic bit i didnt think the metal part of the mount was different but ive never done the swap so i cant be sure :? also bumper end caps look nicer on the phase 1 :D

i'm sure somone will have done it tho :idea:

luke you are the man i though about what u said and pretty much with a few tweeks the phase 1 front end fits phase 2 i am well happy as i didnt really like the plastic pig front nose :) did have to swop the radiators over was biggest hassle as one is bigger than the other and the mounts were differant :)
not fitted the phase 2 front to the phase 1 van yet but do that towmorow

also changed the bumper caps front and rear looks so much better and removed the huge phase 2 rear lamps and phase 1 diamond tail lights will fit
i am well happy as really like phase 1 :)

seriously tho........ looking good 8) 8) glad i posted it up you'd have been kicking yourself if somone mentioned it after you'd sold the phase 1 :x :lol:

i see the phase 2 wing has the extra hole for the end cap clip - same as at the back - you could easly weld that up but i would leave the other one without 2 holes incase the new owner wants to go back to phase 1 - i think most people prefer phase 1 :D

yeah will remove the spare clips front and rear and give them to the new owner of the the real phase 1 got 2 people interested in her but i need to update the pictures as they both think it looks like a phase 1 :)

going back to head lights luke

i belive phase 1 lamps are the same fittings as mk2 escort
phase 2 ones are totally differant on the back and mount in differant places :)
but there look the same from the front :)

When I fitted the P2 front to my P1 the Headlights were further back!

As you can see doing it the other way, as you've done, the Headlights

stick through too far. Each to their own but I would leave things as

they were.......You started with 2 orignal vans and now have 2 that

are modified and....to the purist...devalued! Your choice :!:

Agreed but the old van is for sale :)
And I am going to modify the 4x4 in small ways anyway bigger wheels etc turbo diesel motor :)

will the entire headlights swap over :?: and yes they are the same as mk2 escort as i bought 1 and it said mk2 escort on the packet

who cares about originality phase 1 looks better so have it that 8) why drive around in something you like less just because it left the factory that way :!: next people will be moaning firevans should be left LHD with blue lights on :roll:

Very much like I fitted a 5 speed gearbox now that's Not original but it's make so much sense :)
