2006 Ford Transit Connect tddi instrument cluster problem

Hello everybody I'm having a problem with my connect the problem is my handbrake light will not go off at all. All other possibilities have been explored. Does anybody know where I can get a wiring diagram from?

Maybe better option is to replace it or send it to a specialist for repair. If yours is a mk1 simple plug & play, not sure about mk2's as may need reprogramming - so I've heard.

I've tried unplugging handbrake switch, brake fluid Top, checked all the Earth straps and a new instrument cluster with the same results. Light stays dim all the time goes brighter with handbrake on. I'm thinking it might be a wiring fault somewhere sorry should have said it's a mk1

If you've tried a new cluster and a switch then agree fault lies somewhere inbetween. Try Haynes manual, should have wiring diagram in there, nip into Halfords and check before you buy

Thanks for your reply I already have a haynes manual and unfortunately its not detailed enough. it's going to Fords to go on their diagnostics machine do you think it'll pick up this fault?

when unplugging brake fluid level switch. Make sure hand brake has been released. Otherwise light will remain on

Update on my instrument cluster it seems that the wires have been tampered with has anybody got a wiring diagram for the block connectors at the back of the instrument cluster?

Any help would be much appreciated thank you

Thanks Paul2012 for all your help unfortunately I still have the same problem it's going to an electrician tomorrow hopefully they can shed some light on it
